The laboratory for electromagnetic studies in Jonage
At RTE’s “Campus Transfo” in Jonage, RTE international’s teams are working on direct current system (HVDC) studies and electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies. This centre is home to Europe’s largest real-time simulation laboratory dedicated to the integration of HVDC & FACTS devices. It houses replicas of all the HVDC lines operated by RTE, from three main HVDC system suppliers, as well as replicas of European utilities such as Equinor.
Thanks to its skills, RTE international currently acts as a technical consultant on a wide range of projects. For example, RTE international’s experts are working on the HVDC connection of the Sofia windfarm in the North Sea, contributing directly to energy transition in the United Kingdom.
