The Cameroon–Chad interconnector project has reached a decisive milestone with the successive launch of tenders by both countries for the construction work
The Cameroon-Chad electricity interconnector project (PIRECT) is entering a new phase. The Cameroonian tender for the construction works, financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), was officially launched in August, while the Chadian tender for the high-voltage infrastructure has just been announced. RTE international is involved in the project alongside Ginger SOFRECO, the lead partner of the consortium responsible for the full engineering scope.

A key gathering for power systems professionals, the event brings together around 9,000 participants from more than 100 countries, along with over 300 exhibitors, to explore the sector’s latest technical and technological developments.
New signed MoU – Eskom, RTE international, AFD and the NTCSA sign cooperation agreement to enhance South Africa’s power grid
In the presence of South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, Eskom, RTE international, Agence française de développement (AFD) and the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a two-year peer-to-peer technical cooperation programme between RTE international and the NTCSA. The initiative is supported through a EUR 650,000 (ZAR 12 million) grant from AFD, financed by the French National Treasury.

RTE international announces the successful deployment of PEMMDB (Pan European Market Modelling Database), an open-source application developed for ENTSO-E that centralises and certifies the quality of the collected data underpinning Europe’s strategic energy planning studies.
RTE international, AFD and MEPSO: a partnership driving energy performance in North Macedonia
In partnership with the AFD (Agence Française de Développement), RTE international has completed a technical assistance programme for North Macedonia’s transmission system operator (TSO), MEPSO. Running alongside an engineering pilot project to digitalise a power substation, the programme addresses three areas of power system planning and operation: security of supply, medium-term reserve sizing, and transmission loss forecasting. To meet the TSO’s requirements, RTE international drew on a broad range of expertise spanning power systems expertise and digital innovation.
