About us

Executive Committee

All activities of RTE international, including those of its subsidiaries, are directed by the Executive Committee. It controls and supervises commercial activities, as well as the technical and organizational management of projects.

Veronika Milewski

CEO

Veronika Milewski has served as the CEO of RTE international since June 2022.

She commenced her career at EDF within the International Division before transitioning to the Finance Division, where she worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department. In 2011, she was appointed Head of Department in the Nuclear Fuel Division. Subsequently, she returned to the International Division as Deputy Director of European Development and later became Head of Division in EDF’s European Affairs Division. In 2021, she joined RTE as Deputy Director for Europe.

Veronika Milewski graduated from the École Nationale d’Administration in 2004 and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. She also holds a Master’s degree in economics and management from the University of Vienna, Austria.

Philippe Michal

Director of Electrical Systems Expertise

Philippe Michal is the Director of the Electrical Systems Expertise service line. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the École des Hautes Études Industrielles in Lille and a diploma in business management from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises in Paris. Philippe Michal began his career at EDF in 1986.

He joined RTE international in 2005 as a project director before advancing to the role of service line director. Throughout his career, he has overseen more than a hundred international projects, leveraging his expertise in the organization, operation, and maintenance of electricity transmission systems.

Quitterie Varichon

Director of Business Development

Quitterie Varichon serves as the Director of Business Development at RTE international. She previously held the position of Head of Americas Europe at EDF International Networks for over eleven years. Her career also encompasses significant roles at EDF ENR Solare and EDF PEI, where she acquired extensive experience in project engineering, fundraising, and green technologies.

With a robust analytical background and multilingual proficiency, Quitterie began her career at FENICE SPA as the Corporate Strategy, Internal Control, and Quality Manager, further enhancing her skills in strategic planning and auditing.

She holds an engineering degree from Agro Paris Tech and a Master’s in International Business from ESSEC.

Paul Lagartinho

Director of live working and maintenance optimization

Paul Lagartinho is the Director of the Maintenance Optimization service line.

He joined RTE international in 2018, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in leading Live Line Works projects on substations and high- and medium-voltage lines both in France and internationally.

In addition to his role at RTE international, Paul Lagartinho is a professor at the University of Aix-en-Provence, specializing in electrical engineering and power electronics.

Aurélien Watare

Director of Digital Solutions

Aurélien Watare currently serves as the line manager responsible for digital solutions at RTE international, where he leverages his expertise in network management, open source technologies, and virtualization/digitization.

He is a graduate of ENSIEG (ENSE3), where he earned an engineering degree in electrical engineering and electronics.

Markus Vor dem Berge

Director of Power Electronics and Design

Markus Vor dem Berge is the Director of the Power Electronics and Studies service line at RTE international, having joined the company in 2020. Prior to this role, he worked at Siemens AG as a system design engineer specializing in HVDC PLUS technologies.

He notably led several HVDC VSC projects as a sub-project manager in Europe and served as the technical project manager for the VSC Bipole 2000 MW, ±525 kV, for both onshore and offshore applications.

Markus Vor dem Berge holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Technology, with a focus on Power Engineering, from the University of Aachen.

Pierre Guillaume

Engineering Director

Pierre Guillaume has over 20 years of experience in the electricity sector, having worked with both EDF and RTE. From 1994 to 2004, he served as a transmission network project manager for various HV overhead line and substation projects, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from the design phase to commissioning.

Between 2004 and 2005, he acted as the resident project manager in Lebanon for the construction of 225 and 400 kV overhead lines. From 2006 to 2010, he was a member of the management committee of an RTE regional maintenance center, where he ensured compliance with maintenance policies and safeguarded the protection of people and property. In 2011, he assumed the role of head of RTE’s Aeronautics and Maintenance Methods Department.

From 2015 to 2021, he managed a team of 150 employees responsible for maintenance work, facilitating social and technical transformation within the team. He joined RTE international in 2021 as head of the engineering department, overseeing a team of 17 international project managers.

Pierre holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from INSA Lyon.
