Our environmental commitments
Preserving the environment and its resources
Building tomorrow’s electrical world means taking current environmental issues into account in the company’s strategy and day-to-day activities. This is why RTE international is committed to implementing a global environmental policy for all its actions.
In 2021, we introduced our first environmental policy covering all our activities. In line with our determination to continuously improve our processes, including our environmental policy, a new version was proposed in 2024.
This new environmental policy is now organized around the company’s strategy to align it with five of the seventeen sustainable development objectives set out in Agenda 2023, namely :
ODD 17 – Partnering to achieve the goals: Contract with carriers who place the environment at the heart of their concerns, in order to reduce the impact of our import/export activity on the climate.
ODD 8 – Decent work and economic growth and MDG 10 – Reducing inequalities between and within countries: supporting developing countries in their electrification and in building the electricity systems of tomorrow.
ODD 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Offer our customers adapted, reliable and resilient solutions in both developed and developing countries.
ODD 13 – Fight against climate change: Quantify the company’s emissions in order to set clear and appropriate targets for the main emission sources, but also support companies in transforming their energy facilities.
