Training SONABEL staff in Live Working (LW) on HV lines in Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso’s electricity transmission network is subject to severe operating constraints, and the disconnection of overhead links in order to carry out maintenance works is often difficult. RTE international assisted SONABEL in implementing Live Working on their network.

• Carrying out preliminary studies in order to determine the list of feasible LW interventions and conditions for carrying out these interventions
• Defining the tools required for carrying out these interventions
• Defining an organisational structure for carrying out Live Working
• Defining the selection criteria for LW operators
• Carrying out technical studies in order to define the rules for carrying out the works
• Development of a system of reference for technical and requirement documents relating to LW
• Defining, preparing and carrying out a theoretical and practical training plan, suited to the LW team (12 weeks)
• Support in the implementation and the development of LW activities
