New signed MoU – Eskom, RTE international, AFD and the NTCSA sign cooperation agreement to enhance South Africa’s power grid

In the presence of South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, Eskom, RTE international, Agence française de développement (AFD) and the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a two-year peer-to-peer technical cooperation programme between RTE international and the NTCSA. The initiative is supported through a EUR 650,000 (ZAR 12 million) grant from AFD, financed by the French National Treasury.

RTE international, AFD and MEPSO: a partnership driving energy performance in North Macedonia

In partnership with the AFD (Agence Française de Développement), RTE international has completed a technical assistance programme for North Macedonia’s transmission system operator (TSO), MEPSO. Running alongside an engineering pilot project to digitalise a power substation, the programme addresses three areas of power system planning and operation: security of supply, medium-term reserve sizing, and transmission loss forecasting. To meet the TSO’s requirements, RTE international drew on a broad range of expertise spanning power systems expertise and digital innovation.

From 21 to 24 October 2025, RTE international will participate in the Congreso Internacional sobre Trabajos con Tensión y Seguridad en Transmisión y Distribución de Energía Eléctrica (CITTES), organized by CIER in Argentina.
