Paris, 10 March 2025 – As part of its growth strategy, RTE international announces the opening of its new subsidiary in Oceania, RTEi Australia Pacific. This significant step in the company’s development strengthens its footprint in the Australian energy market and promotes the regional energy transition.
A longstanding presence in the Australian energy market
RTE international has been active in Australia for over a decade through its partnership with Powerlink, the Queensland electricity transmission system operator (TSO). Over the years, RTE international’s teams have provided their expertise in live working, including technical assistance, training, audits, as well as the supply of equipment and materials.
Building on this relationship, RTE international signed a new partnership agreement in 2023, further strengthening its collaboration with Powerlink. In addition, the company supports EDF Australia in the bidding phases and the development of transmission projects launched by the governments of New South Wales and Victoria. These projects aim to design, construct, and operate 500 kV transmission infrastructure, either integrating new renewable energy capacity or enhancing inter-state grid connections. Thus, supporting the country’s energy transition.
