Grid Code for Niger

RTE International has developed a National Grid Code for Niger describing the conditions and criteria for generation, transmission, distribution, regional and/or cross-border interconnection, and marketing of electrical energy by power sector licensees.

Services delivered

• Drafting of a connection code, establishing the minimum technical requirements to be met by network users before they can be connected to the network, whether they are producers, distributors, or industrial customers.
• Drafting of an operating code describing the relations between the various network users, generation, consumption, and distribution entities, and the network operator, as well as the rules to be applied by the network operator to guarantee the safe operation of the electrical system.
• Drafting of a market code.
