RTE international achieves ISO 45001 certification

Two years after earning ISO 9001 certification, RTE international has reached a new milestone in health and safety by securing ISO 45001 accreditation. The achievement underscores the company’s commitment to the continuous improvement of its practices and its determination to meet the growing expectations of stakeholders in terms of social responsibility.

A stronger health and safety culture through ISO 45001

A subsidiary of RTE, RTE international builds on a strong heritage in prevention to develop its own workplace health and safety culture. This commitment applies not only to employees but also to stakeholders, including clients and partners.

The company began this journey in 2022 by implementing a quality management system, which was recognized with ISO 9001 certification. In 2024, it strengthened its commitment by incorporating the requirements of ISO 45001 — the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems — transforming its quality management system into an integrated management system.

A collaborative approach to ISO 45001 across international operations

In June, the company underwent an audit by Socotec Certification, an accreditation body approved by COFRAC. The audit examined, among other areas:

  • Protection of the health and safety of employees and all stakeholders at every stage of a project

  • Social dialogue and the active involvement of employees and workers to ensure the full effectiveness of existing systems

  • Planning, organizing and coordinating operations with health and safety in mind, in line with strategic priorities and applicable regulations

  • Risk prevention, continuous improvement of existing practices, and management of potential incidents

  • Enhancing the health and safety of employees and external contractors during projects and in daily operations, where necessary

  • Oversight of external companies and contractors in health and safety matters, including training, organization, practices and audits

ISO 45001: a mark of transparency and continuous improvement

With ISO 45001 certification awarded without any non-conformities — alongside the retention of ISO 9001 — RTE international champions a participative approach based on continuous improvement. Employees are fully involved in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing preventive measures.

The company also remains committed to enhancing stakeholder satisfaction and strengthening mutual trust.

“This certification recognises the collective effort of all our teams — both the constant commitment of our management to quality, health and safety, and the dedication of every employee to embedding these objectives at the heart of our activities,” said Anaïs Martin, Corporate Quality Manager. “It has been a true company-wide project, enabling us to structure our approach, step back and reflect on our methods, and make progress together. We will continue in this direction, listening to our stakeholders, to make quality, health and safety not only a competitive advantage but also a driver of purpose and shared performance.”
