RTE international to take part in CITTES 2025 in Argentina

From 21 to 24 October 2025, RTE international will participate in the Congreso Internacional sobre Trabajos con Tensión y Seguridad en Transmisión y Distribución de Energía Eléctrica (CITTES), organized by CIER in Argentina. CITTES is one of Latin America’s leading events for electricity transmission and distribution players, bringing together TSOs, experts, companies and institutions to exchange on live working methods, safety, and technological innovations to enhance network reliability.

A strong commitment to the maintenance and optimization of electricity networks

Our participation at CITTES reflects our commitment to sharing experience on cutting-edge solutions for network maintenance and development, highlighting the importance of live working for ensuring service continuity, and promoting innovation and best practices that improve worker safety and infrastructure resilience.

As a subsidiary of RTE, the French transmission system operator and one of Europe’s largest TSOs, RTE international draws on more than 60 years of experience in live working. With proven methods recognized worldwide, we now support system operators across the globe in projects ranging from feasibility studies and training, to methodologies and turnkey worksites.

Optimisation of electrical networks: international feedback at CITTES 2025

We are pleased to present three conferences on Friday, 24 October:

  • 10:00 – 380 kV PYLON REPLACEMENT. Replacing 380 kV pylons in the Netherlands without line outages: a challenge met thanks to our expertise in electrical calculations, mechanical simulations and innovative solutions. A study demonstrating how to combine safety, reliability and sustainability under complex conditions.

  • 11:00 – COMPLETE LIVE-WORKING RENOVATION OF A 150 kV STRATEGIC SUBSTATION. In Nouméa, New Caledonia, the full renovation of the strategic Ducos substation addressed rising consumption and renewable integration, while maintaining supply to users. A large-scale project carried out entirely under live conditions, ensuring safety and continuity of service.

  • 11:30 – SVK SECONDMENT AND OPGW LIVE REPLACEMENT. Together with Svenska kraftnät (Svk), the Swedish TSO, RTE international shared its live working expertise. From a training and immersion program for engineers through to the live replacement of an optical ground wire (OPGW), this project illustrates international cooperation and the transfer of best practices in the face of ageing and heavily stressed networks.
