Why a Internship – Load Flow Data?

We are now offering internship positions for the Digital Solutions for Power Networks Business Line, looking for people contributing to the development of our software and working on our future projects.

As part of a dynamic team, you will participate to the development applications oriented on the business process of our customers (Transmission System Operators – TSOs, Regional Security Coordinators – RSCs, Utilities, etc.). Come and join us at RTE international, where we develop solutions for the management and coordination of power networks in Europe and around the world.

Duties / Tasks

Load flow platform project: the mission consists in implementing a platform allowing network flow calculations in the form of sensitivity calculations (power transfer distribution factor). These calculations will be made based on data available for actors in the energy world and will use the open-source load flow module developed by Rte: Additionally, some work is expected on links with other solutions and data management. Work on our base models is also expected to have an overall platform suitable for operational processes. On the previously mentioned projects, you will contribute to the development of these platform, with our team of developers and engineers. You will participate to the development of new functional modules and get involved in a highly technological project, in the field of energy transition, based on the latest IT frameworks.

Candidate Requirements

  • Some skills in IT development (Java, Python, etc.)
  • Basic Knowledge in power networks is a plus
Candidate Profile:
  • A high level of autonomy and initiative
  • Rigour, curiosity of mind, a taste for innovation
  • A great capacity for analysis technical problems and an interest in the field of the electrical system and for teamwork !
Foreign languages
  • Fluent English

Internship conditions

  • 6 months internship
  • Integrate a team of approx. 12 people
  • Offices are in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, and Belgrade
